Governor Kundi stresses women empowerment, police recruitment in KP
\n ISLAMABAD
\nGovernor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Faisal Karim Kundi, on Monday met with the Governor of Gilgit Baltistan, Syed Mehdi Shah, to discuss various matters of mutual interest.
\nDuring their meeting, the two leaders focused on the current political situation in the country and its implications, emphasizing the importance of cooperation for national stability and development.
\nBoth the governors highlighted the potential for promoting tourism in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit Baltistan, which are renowned for their natural beauty and historical heritage.
\nGovernor Kundi remarked that enhancing tourism could significantly benefit the national economy and increase employment opportunities for local communities.
\nHe stressed the need for joint tourism projects and improved facilities to expand the industry.
\nGovernor Mehdi Shah agreed on the importance of tourism, pointing out the abundant opportunities in Gilgit Baltistan that could be leveraged through collaboration with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
\nHe urged airlines, including Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), to initiate flights to Gilgit Baltistan to further promote tourism.
\nHe also emphasized the necessity of improving infrastructure and facilities for tourists to enhance international tourism.
\nBoth leaders concluded their meeting with a consensus on the need for collective efforts from all provinces and regions to ensure the political stability and economic development of the country.
\nGovernor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Faisal Karim Kundi, on Monday said that women empowerment is a top priority, and all possible measures will be taken to support this initiative.
\nHe expressed these views during a meeting with a delegation from the social organization SSDO and USIP. The delegation included SSDO Executive Director Syed Kausar Abbas, Director Shahid Jatoi, Program Director Maryam Jawad, USIP Program Manager Hamza Ijaz, Program Officer Bilal Khattak, and Moiz.
\nThe meeting focused on promoting the recruitment of women in the police force in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
\nSSDO and USIP will run awareness campaigns to increase female representation in the police and will assist government institutions in policy-making. Governor Kundi welcomed the inclusion of women in the police force, assuring his full support for initiatives aimed at increasing their participation.
\nHe said that involvement of women in the police would not only protect women\u2019s rights but also enhance social balance and improve the justice system.
