\nPrime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu issued a fresh warning to Iran Monday, saying there was no place in the Middle East beyond Israel\u2019s reach amid a flurry of strikes against Hezbollah in Lebanon.
\nIn a video statement made in English, Netanyahu addressed the people of Iran and warned that their government was bringing them \u201ccloser to the abyss.\u201d

\n\u201cWith every passing moment, the regime is bringing you \u2014 the noble Persian people \u2014 closer to the abyss,\u201d said Netanyahu.
\n\u201cThere is nowhere in the Middle East Israel cannot reach,\u201d the prime minister added, warning the people of Iran that their \u201cregime plunges our region deeper into darkness and deeper into war.\u201d
\n\u201cDon\u2019t let a small group of theocrats crush your hopes and your dreams,\u201d Netanyahu said.
\nIsrael has in recent days been mounting heavy air strikes in Lebanon against the \u201cAxis of Resistance,\u201d a network of Iran-aligned militant groups in the region, including in Syria, Yemen and Iraq.
\nAn Israeli strike on Beirut Friday killed Hassan Nasrallah, the head of the Lebanese militant group Hezbollah that has been armed and financed by the Islamic Republic for years.
\nIran has also vowed to avenge the killing of Abbas Nilforoushan, a top commander of the Quds Force, the foreign operations arm of Iran\u2019s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, who died alongside the Hezbollah leader on Friday.
\nIn his video statement, Netanyahu expressed hope for a future \u201cwhen Iran is finally free,\u201d saying it would \u201ccome a lot sooner than people think.\u201d
\n\u201cEverything will be different,\u201d he said. \u201cOur two countries, Israel and Iran, will be at peace. Iran will thrive as never before.\u201d
\nNetanyahu\u2019s comments came hours after Iran\u2019s foreign ministry spokesman said the country had no plans to send its fighters to directly confront Israel.
\n\u201cThere is no need to send extra or volunteer forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran,\u201d said foreign ministry spokesman Nasser Kanani, adding that Lebanon and fighters in the Palestinian territories \u201chave the capability and strength to defend themselves against the aggression.\u201d
\nEarlier Monday, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian visited Hezbollah\u2019s office in Tehran \u201cto pay tribute\u201d to Nasrallah, according to the government\u2019s website.
\nSupreme leader Ali Khamenei \u2014 who has the final say in all matters of the state in Iran \u2014 has vowed that Nasrallah\u2019s death \u201cwill not be in vain.\u201d
\nKhamenei said Israel was \u201ctoo weak to cause significant damage to the solid construction of Hezbollah in Lebanon\u201d and called on the \u201cAxis of Resistance\u201d to stand with Hezbollah.
