\nKP Minister for Elementary and Secondary Education, Faisal Khan Tarakai has said that education is the worst affected sector of militancy in all merged districts as especially girls\u2019 schools have been targeted, which are being activated.
\nHe expressed these views while presiding over a meeting regarding education sector projects in district Khyber here on Wednesday. Besides, the Provincial Minister for Religious Affairs Adnan Qadri, MNA Iqbal Afridi and MPA Abdul Ghani Afridi, officers of the district education department and students from district Khyber attended the meeting.
\nThe meeting discussed in detail the situation of the education sector, completed and ongoing schemes and other problems. Speaking on the occasion, the Provincial Minister for Elementary and Secondary Education, Faisal Khan Tarakai assured the elected public representatives from the district Khyber that the second shift schools in the area would be opened within a period of one week, so the boys and girls from the district could get the opportunity of getting education in their respective localities.
\nHe said that in the whole province in general and merged districts in particular, the provincial government is initiating a rented building school project to begin the process of education with immediate effect.
\nThe provincial minister added that along with the provision of free textbooks, a project of free school bags is also being initiated for the merged districts.
\nHe said that beside the opening of 150 affected primary and 50 middle schools in rented buildings, 150 middle level schools are also being opened in rented buildings across the merged districts. Similarly, he said that APL centres are being established for the religious seminaries while 32000 girls\u2019 students from Grade 6 to Grade 12 will also be paid an annual stipend.
\nHe said that 10 selected schools in each merged district would be equipped with all kinds of facilities while the process of the standardization of 21 higher secondary schools would also be completed while five examination halls are also being constructed in the schools of the merged districts.
\nThe provincial minister further said that with the financial assistance of the People\u2019s Republic of China 50 schools are being provided all kinds of facilities and a project of the newly constructed schools is also in the phase of completion.
\nHe said that the process of the rehabilitation, settlement, construction and activation of schools is under process in all merged districts on an emergency basis and the shortage of teachers will also be overcome soon.
\nThe provincial minister said that 13000 teachers will be recruited on a permanent basis while others will also be recruited on ad hoc basis.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
