\nKhyber Pakhtunkhwa Secretary Information and Public Relations, Arshad Khan, emphasized the pivotal role of journalists in society, describing journalism as a sacred profession that serves as the voice of the people against oppression and injustice.
\nHe noted that journalists play a critical role in societal reform and that the provincial government is committed to their welfare.
\nAddressing members of the Mardan Press Club during his visit, Arshad Khan highlighted the government\u2019s initiatives, including grants provided to all registered press clubs in the province for the first time in history.
\nHe acknowledged the challenges faced by regional journalists, particularly in the current economic climate, and assured that the government is working on increasing the endowment fund to support the journalist community.
\nUpon his arrival at the Press Club, the Secretary was welcomed by President Bashir Adel and General Secretary Akhunzada Fazal Haq, alongside other officials and members.
\nPress Registrar Ansarullah Khalji and Regional Information Officer Shamsul Haq were also present.
\nDuring his address, Arshad Khan praised the historical significance of Mardan and commended the local journalists for their contributions to civic journalism.
\nHe inspected various parts of the Press Club and expressed appreciation for their work.
\nIn recognition of his visit, Press Club President Bashir Adel and other officials presented the Secretary with a commemorative shield and gifts.
\nEarlier, Arshad Khan visited the Regional Information Office Mardan, where he was briefed by Regional Information Officer Shamsul Haq on office matters.
\nLater, the Secretary also visited Pakhtunkhwa Radio Mardan, where Station Manager Sajid Mehmood provided an overview of the station\u2019s programming.
