\nThe Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has decided to further enhance security for foreign workers involved in Pakistan-China Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects.
\nIn light of growing security concerns, the government has deployed 8,500 personnel to ensure the safety of these workers.
\nAccording to official details, five security personnel have been assigned for each foreign worker, while more than seven personnel have been appointed to guard each Chinese engineer working on CPEC projects.
\nCurrently, 1,585 Chinese nationals and 97 engineers and workers from other countries are employed across 23 projects in KP.
\nIn addition to the government forces, 503 private security personnel have also been deployed to safeguard foreign engineers and workers.
\nOverall, 14 types of security measures have been implemented to ensure the safety of the 1,882 foreign engineers and workers. These foreigners are engaged in various projects, including CPEC, 2 projects, WAPDA, 4 projects, pro-government, 9 projects, and 8 private projects across KP.
\nForces such as the Police, Elite Force, Bomb Disposal Unit (BDU), Frontier Corps (FC), and the Army are involved in providing comprehensive security.
\nThe largest security deployment has been made for WAPDA projects, with 5,185 personnel assigned to protect workers. Additionally, 1,470 personnel have been tasked with securing 208 Chinese workers on two CPEC projects. For the eight private projects, 190 personnel, including 121 from private security firms, are responsible for protecting 10 foreign workers.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
