\nCivil society members held a peaceful protest demo in London in front of the US embassy to demand an early release of Dr Aafia Siddiqui on humanitarian grounds.
\nAs per details, civil society activists holding banners and placards gathered before the US embassy in London and chanted slogans for an early release of Dr Aafia Siddiqui.
\nFormer prisoner of Guantanamo Bay Moazzam Baig, speaking on the occasion, said that the Taliban leaders who were prisoners of Guantanamo Bay have now become ministers in the Afghanistan government.
\nHe said the American government has negotiated with them. He said the USA would get nothing by keeping Dr Aafia Siddiqui imprisoned. He said it is the time to end the ordeal of Aafia and release her immediately.
\nDr Laila Merhunnisa Shah said that Dr Aafia Siddiqui is the victim of injustice and she should be now released. She said Dr Aafia Siddiqui is a Pakistani. She said it is disgusting to think what the Pakistani government and society has done to Dr Aafia Siddiqui. She said it is shameful to think of oneself as a Pakistani.
