\nIn a fierce encounter in tribal district Orakzai, three terrorists were killed by policemen guarding a polio vaccination team.
\nAccording to local police, one cop, Abdul Hameed, was martyred in the line of duty. Despite being injured, his colleague Zamil Shah bravely fought off the attackers alone before reinforcements arrived.
\nThe incident occurred during the polio campaign in Badam Malakhel Upper Orkazai.
\n Officers Zamil Badshah and Abdul Hameed were vigilant in their duties when they engaged the terrorists.
\n After a fierce battle, they successfully eliminated two terrorists, while a third was seriously injured and later succumbed to his wounds.
\nThe slain terrorists were identified as local commander Yahya, son of Syed Lal Khan, Noor Sadiq, son of Latif Khan, and Umar Khalid.
\n Following the encounter, police and Frontier Corps launched a search operation in the area to locate any remaining militants.
\nFuneral prayers for the fallen officer were held with full honors at Kalaya Police Lines, attended by the District Police Officer, civil authorities, and local residents. The martyrs\u2019 coffins were draped in the national flag and adorned with flowers.
\nInspector General of Police (IGP) Akhtar Hayat Khan commended the officers\u2019 bravery in the face of danger, emphasizing that the sacrifices made for national security should not go unnoticed.
