\nEthiopian Ambassador H.E. Dr. Jemal Beker Abdula, visited the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI), engaging in discussions with RCCI President Usman Shaukat and other officials on enhancing trade and investment ties between Pakistan and Ethiopia.
\nDuring the meeting, President Usman Shaukat provided an overview of RCCI\u2019s ongoing initiatives and highlighted Ethiopia\u2019s potential as a valuable market for Pakistan\u2019s non-traditional exports, particularly in pharmaceuticals, agri-foods, defense equipment, and IT services.
\nHe emphasized the importance of easing regulatory compliance to facilitate Pakistani industrialists in exploring Ethiopian markets. President Shaukat further remarked that RCCI will coordinate with the Ethiopian Embassy to arrange a trade delegation visit in March 2025, strengthening the RCCI\u2019s active role in promoting Pakistan\u2019s \u201cLook Africa\u201d policy.
\nHe noted that mutual trade delegations are essential for building networking opportunities and expanding trade cooperation between the two nations.
\nAddressing the meeting, Ethiopian Ambassador H.E. Dr. Jemal Beker Abdula, recognized Ethiopia as a strategic gateway to the African region, with significant potential to support Pakistan\u2019s trade and export expansion across a regional market of 1.4 billion people.
\nHe encouraged Pakistani businesses to consider Ethiopia as a key partner, mentioning the country\u2019s import needs in sectors such as pharmaceuticals, textiles, and construction materials. A presentation was also shared with attendees, showcasing various opportunities for trade and investment in Ethiopia.
