\nOn the call of Awami National Party (ANP) President Aimal Wali Khan, a black day was observed across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Monday to protest the ongoing unrest in the province and the tragic events in Kurram district.
\nAccording to a statement issued by the party headquarters Bacha Khan Markaz, district-level demonstrations were held under the party\u2019s local organizations, with a significant protest taking place outside the Peshawar Press Club.
\nANP Provincial President Mian Iftikhar Hussain, General Secretary Hussain Shah Yousafzai, Sardar Hussain Babak, and other leaders addressed the demonstrators.
\nThe speakers condemned the provincial government\u2019s negligence in addressing escalating terrorist incidents. They accused Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur of prioritizing political loyalty over his responsibilities, specifically citing his efforts to secure the release of the PTI founder while the province faces critical security challenges.
\nMian Iftikhar Hussain expressed frustration over the lack of action against growing terrorism, warning that the violence in Kurram district had taken a dangerous sectarian turn.
\nHe criticized the assignment of only six police personnel to protect a convoy of 200 vehicles and alleged that certain forces might be attempting to depopulate Parachinar.
\nHighlighting regional concerns, Mian Iftikhar pointed out that while neighboring Afghanistan is developing an economic corridor with China, KP\u2019s leadership is undermining the province\u2019s stability.
\nHe blamed both the provincial and federal governments for the deteriorating law and order situation.
\nIn response to the crisis, Mian Iftikhar announced that the ANP would organize a peace march to advocate for stability in the region, with the date to be announced soon.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
