PESHAWAR
\nSarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry expressed grave concern over prevailing \u2018slow-down\u2019 in economic and trade activities due to the current political unrest and said that it would further damage the economy and businesses.
\nIt was urged by the federal government and relevant authorities to resolve all issues through negotiations to maintain law and order as well as smoothly flourish economic, trade and business operations and prevent further deteriorating the economy.
\nIn a joint statement issued by president SCCI Fazal Moqeem Khan, Senior Vice President Abdul Jalil Jan and Vice president Shehryar Khan said a complete lockdown situation prevailed due to political protest\/sit-ins that had halted business and trade activities throughout the country.
\nOn the other hand, office bearers said online-business has also suffered due to slow-down of internet services.
\nThey said business, trade and export have already declined in the prevailing situations and protest\/sit-ins would further paralyzed them, which was not in the best interest of people and the country.
\nOffice bearers asserted that the government and relevant institutions must sort out solutions to all issues through peace and table talks, because turbulence and anarchy were unaffordable for the country.
\nFazal Moqeem stressed that a peaceful atmosphere is vital for economic stability and growth as it is crucial for improving business, trade and export that would lead the nation on path sustainable prosperity and progress.
\nSCCI chief said country\u2019s economy still unstable situation and closure of business, trade and economic activities was tantamount to further push economy to standstill situation.
\nFazal Moqeem urged the government and protesters to adopt a path of dialogue for the best interest of the economy and country and avoid creating anarchy and instability.
