\nKhyber Pakhtunkhwa government spokesperson Barrister Mohammad Ali Saif has strongly condemned remarks made by the federal minister Atta Tarar, accusing him of exaggeration and self-promotion.
\nIn a statement issued here on Tuesday, Mr Saif accused the federal government of mistreating detained PTI protesters, calling it an act of oppression, and accused federal minister Atta Tarar of incompetence and ignorance, particularly highlighting his demand for protest footage as evidence of his ineptitude.
\n\u201cThe federal government was accused of coercing arrested and injured personnel into recording videos under duress,\u201d he said and criticized the alleged fabrication of footage and its use to mislead the public.
\nKP government spokesperson referenced international media coverage and social media videos that reportedly expose federal authorities\u2019 brutality, including firing on protesters and visible casualties.
\nThe injured personnel should be transferred to hospitals in KP for proper care and the federal government must halt any further coercion or mistreatment of detained protesters.
\nSaif reiterated that the KP government would persist in advocating for citizens\u2019 rights and exposing the alleged injustices at all available forums.
\nHe urged the federal government to acknowledge the realities of the situation rather than attempting to manipulate public perception through staged or fake footage.
\nHe also called on Atta Tarar to address the pressing concerns genuinely and avoid sensationalism.
