\nAdvisor to the Chief Minister on health Ihtesham Ali on Tuesday reiterated the provincial government\u2019s zero-tolerance policy towards corruption in the health department.
\nHe warned that any individual found engaging in corrupt practices would face strict legal action.
\nSpeaking as the chief guest at the second District Health Officers Conference held in Peshawar, CM aide on health emphasized the moral and professional responsibility of health officials, stating, \u201cAllah Almighty has chosen you to serve the suffering humanity, and you will one day answer for your duties.\u201d
\nThe conference, attended by senior health officials, including the Secretary Health, Special Secretary, DG Health, and District Health Officers (DHOs) from across the province, provided a platform to discuss the state of healthcare facilities, anti-polio initiatives, medicine supplies, and other operational matters.
\nIhtesham Ali directed officials to meet district targets before the next conference and emphasized the recruitment of contract doctors to address staffing shortages.
\nHe called for a collective effort to improve the health department, urging officials to work within the available resources to make the sector a model for others.
\nAli outlined specific steps to enhance service delivery and efficiency.
\nDHOs were instructed to prioritize field inspections alongside office work to identify shortcomings in health centers and monitor staff attendance.
\nRegular performance evaluations were encouraged to ensure accountability and improve service delivery.
\nOfficials were tasked with ensuring the timely availability of medicines and addressing negligence by vendors.
\nHe stressed the removal of obstacles and deficiencies in urgent health services to avoid inconvenience to the public.
\n\u201cDespite challenges, we must work together to provide the best possible health facilities to the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa,\u201d he said.
\nThe advisor called for prompt reporting of issues requiring central intervention, ensuring swift resolution.
