\nKhyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister of Ali Amin Khan Gandapur underscored that the steps taken to combat corruption must be implemented on the ground for real change, emphasizing the need for effective anti-corruption measures and self-accountability.
\nHe expressed these views while addressing a seminar on the International Anti-Corruption Day 2024.
\nThe KP government organized a public awareness week on anti-corruption from December 2 to December 9, 2024, aimed at raising awareness and encouraging collective action to fight corruption in the province.
\nThe weeklong initiative culminated in a seminar on International Anti-Corruption Day, held at Nishtar Hall in Peshawar on Monday.
\nChief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Ali Amin Khan Gandapur, attended the event as the chief guest,
\nGandapur pointed out that one of the main challenges in tackling corruption is the lack of self-accountability, stating that eradicating corruption is only possible when individuals hold themselves accountable.
\nHe expressed concern that many do not view corruption as a serious issue, but insisted that once society recognizes corruption as wrong, it will begin to fade away.
\nThe Chief Minister also discussed the importance of self-reflection, stating that acknowledging our own shortcomings is the first step toward improvement.
\nHe argued that when individuals recognize and fix their own flaws, larger societal problems will be resolved.
\nFurther, Gandapur urged people to prioritize blessings and peace over wealth. He emphasized that without peace and blessings, money becomes irrelevant, underscoring the importance of contentment in life.
\nThe Chief Minister also stressed that decisions in every aspect of life should be guided by Islamic teachings. He called for integrating these teachings into daily practices to bring about societal and personal transformation.
\nGandapur shared that the provincial government has made significant strides in boosting revenue, reporting a 44pc increase since the current government\u2019s establishment.
\nThis achievement, he suggested, was a result of transparent policies and effective governance.
