\nAn important meeting held here on Monday with provincial minister for education Faisal Khan Tarakai in the chair, reviewed several significant initiatives launched by the education department to improve the education system in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
\nAccording to an official handout, the meeting reviewed annual development programs progress including provision of better facilities in schools, the upgradation of existing schools, solarization projects, the establishment of schools in rented buildings, and the appointment of teachers through the Parent Teachers Council (PTC).
\nThe forum was informed that currently, 99 projects are underway in the education department, with work ongoing on 83 of them.
\nThese projects are distributed across settled districts (58 projects), merged districts (19 projects), and AIP (22 projects), with an estimated total expenditure of Rs 23,283 million.
\nSo far, Rs 2,229 million has been released for these projects, and Rs 1,854 million has been spent.
\nDuring an ADP review meeting, which was attended by senior education officials, Tarakai set a deadline of December 30 for completing the new 16 schemes, stressing that all necessary requirements must be fulfilled by that date.
\nHe also ordered bi-weekly reviews of the ongoing projects, emphasizing that delays in projects of public interest would not be tolerated.
\nIn an effort to address teacher shortages, the Minister directed the immediate appointment of temporary teachers through the PTC, ensuring that students have access to educators in a timely manner.
\nHe also instructed the relevant authorities to work with donors and institutions to provide free bags for students and to organize a donors\u2019 conference to support ongoing and new projects through partnerships.
\nTarakai also spoke about the importance of the Rented Buildings Schools Project, calling it a flagship initiative of Chief Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur.
\nHe urged for the acceleration of work on this project and for swift action on primary and middle-level schools.
\nFurthermore, he emphasized the need to expedite the 50 community schools project under a public-private partnership and to finalize the list for establishing ALP centers in religious schools.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
