\nA representative delegation from the Young Parliamentarians Forum met with the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Ali Amin Gandapur, said an official handout.
\nThe delegation, comprising young parliamentarians from various political parties and provinces, discussed the political situation of the country and important national issues.
\nThe Chief Minister emphasized the need to reduce the size of provinces and administrative units to enhance governance and service delivery.
\nHe argued that smaller administrative units would help resolve 90 percent of local-level issues, effectively addressing people\u2019s problems.
\nHe noted that large administrative units hinder the effective utilization of resources and suggested adopting a global trend of smaller administrative units to improve service delivery.
\nChief Minister Gandapur also addressed concerns regarding the province\u2019s international credibility, acknowledging that a lack of trust from foreign organizations impacts foreign investment.
\nHe emphasized the importance of improving credibility and prioritizing realistic development projects that benefit the maximum number of people.
\nIn terms of education, the provincial government is focusing on the promotion of girls\u2019 education, with 100pc scholarships being provided to girls from merged districts. Work is also underway to strengthen basic health centers and improve the health card system, saving the provincial government considerable resources.
\nAdditionally, steps are being taken to harness the province\u2019s hydroelectric power potential, with projects like the 800 MW hydroelectric power plants underway.
\nHowever, the provincial government faces challenges in law and order, particularly in the merged districts, which have suffered from the war on terrorism.
\nDespite limited support from the federal government for this issue, the provincial government is using its own resources to restore infrastructure in these areas.
\nFurthermore, the Chief Minister highlighted the establishment of a debt management fund worth 50 billion to strengthen financial stability within institutions.
\nHe also stressed the need for serious measures to combat corruption and proposed a system to block corruption at all levels.
\nAli Amin Gandapur stressed the importance of prioritizing national interests over political differences. They expressed a shared commitment to working together for peace, development, and strengthening democracy in the country.
