\nA one-day seminar was held at Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan on Anti-Corruption Day, organized by the university\u2019s Post Office in collaboration with the District Administration and District Youth Office.
\nThe seminar featured a series of five competitions for Abdul Wali Khan University students, including Urdu and English speeches, Urdu and English essay writing, and poster painting.
\nThe event saw a large turnout of university students, professors, lecturers, media representatives, and dignitaries such as Mardan\u2019s Deputy Commissioner Dr. Azmatullah Wazir, Additional Deputy Commissioner Finance and Planning Syed Fahad Iftikhar, and District Youth Officer Usman Khan.
\nDuring his address, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Azmatullah Wazir stressed the importance of self-accountability in the fight against corruption.
\nHe explained that corruption is not solely about financial misconduct but also includes neglecting one\u2019s duties and failing to perform to the best of one\u2019s ability.
\nHe encouraged adopting self-accountability, inspired by the principles of the forefathers, to help build a corruption-free society.
\nDr Azmatullah emphasized that Anti-Corruption Day is observed globally to collectively express disdain for corruption and dishonesty.
\nHe described corruption as a serious societal issue, noting that civilized societies do not tolerate such destructive elements and work together to eliminate them. He further highlighted that a corruption-free society is essential for securing a better future for the coming generations and called for transparency in all matters, not only financial.
\nAt the end of the seminar, Dr Azmatullah Wazir administered an oath to the attendees, urging them to take personal responsibility in the fight against corruption.
\nThe event concluded with the distribution of awards and certificates of appreciation to the students who earned the top three positions in the competitions, as well as honorary shields for the judges. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
