\nThe 16th board meeting of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Technology Board (KPITB) was held at the Chief Minister Secretariat, Peshawar, under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur.
\nAccording to an official handout, the key focus of the meeting was the finalization of the \u201cDigital Transformation Policy and Roadmap 2030\u201d, which is set to be presented for formal approval in the next provincial cabinet meeting.
\nThe policy, which outlines a comprehensive strategy for the digital future of KP, includes key domains such as digital governance, skills development, cyber resilience, emerging technologies, fintech, digital payments, digital platform infrastructure, climate tech, and fostering the startup and innovation ecosystem.
\nThe meeting was attended by the Chief Secretary Nadeem Aslam Chaudhry, Additional Chief Secretaries, senior officials from the IT Department, and other board members.
\nThe forum also reviewed the progress on decisions made in previous board meetings and discussed steps taken under the current digital policy, along with future goals and initiatives.
\nDuring the meeting, it was revealed that over 60 projects have been launched under the KPITB to improve public service delivery across the province.
\nSome of the flagship initiatives include, Public Service Delivery Portal (Dastak), Digital Revenue Platform, Digital Fintech Platform (Pamir), Digital Stamping, Motor Vehicle Registration System, Carbon Credit Portal.
\nThe meeting was informed that over 100,000 vouchers for arms licenses have been processed through the digital payment platform, resulting in more than Rs 89 crore in payments.
\nSimilarly, the Excise Department collected **Rs 12 crore, with Rs 6 crore coming from vehicle registrations, Rs 5 crore in token tax, and additional collections from other related services.
\nFurthermore, the Digital Revenue Platform has been set up as a unified system for collecting taxes, fines, and revenue.
\nThe recently launched Carbon Credit Portal will centralize all carbon deposit information and related services on a single platform.
\nThe Digital Transformation Policy and Roadmap 2030 reflects KP\u2019s commitment to advancing its digital infrastructure, improving service delivery, and empowering the youth with essential skills for the future.
\nThe initiatives discussed in the meeting are expected to lay the foundation for a digital economy that supports innovation, sustainability, and improved governance in the province.
