\nThe provincial chairman of Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) Sikandar Hayat Khan Sherpao has called for an immediate National Finance Commission (NFC) meeting and an increase in the share of provinces, asserting that delaying the new NFC award is unconstitutional.
\nHe made these remarks during a meeting of QWP district office bearers and workers in Jamalabad, Swabi, where he was joined by provincial and district leaders, including District Chairman Masood Jabbar.
\nSherpao emphasized that the long delay in the issuance of the NFC award has severely impacted smaller provinces, leading to financial crises, increased backwardness, and exacerbated public difficulties.
\n\u201cFair distribution of resources is essential for resolving the economic and financial problems of all provinces, particularly Khyber Pakhtunkhwa,\u201d he added. The QWP leader also criticized the provincial government\u2019s focus on protests rather than addressing critical issues such as law and order, resource allocation, and securing provincial rights. Sikandar highlighted the need for the federal government to ensure the timely payment of dues, including oil and gas royalties and electricity net profit balances, to KP, warning that failure to do so could increase frustration and uncertainty in smaller provinces, potentially destabilizing the federation.
