PESHAWAR: Awami National Party (ANP) condemned attacks on a police post in Shangla that left at least two policemen dead and demanded that the culprits be arrested and tried immediately. In a statement issued from the Bacha Khan Markaz, provincial president of ANP Mian Ifikhar Hussain said that this was the second consecutive attack on the Shangla police within 24 hours, highlighting a concerning trend of escalating terrorist attacks against law enforcement agencies. Hussain also condemned the attacks on anti-polio teams in Karrak, Bannu, and Lakki Marwat districts of the province, which resulted in the martyrdom of a policeman and the injury of a polio worker. He pointed out repeated incidents indicate that terrorists have become more organized and coordinated, leading to a rapidly deteriorating law and order situation in the province. He raised a critical question about the safety of law enforcement personnel, asking how the police can protect the public if they themselves are not safe.
