ISLAMABAD
\nSouth Africa\u2019s wicketkeeper-batter Heinrich Klaasen has been fined 15% of his match fee for breaching the ICC Code of Conduct during the second ODI against Pakistan on Thursday, December 19.
\nThe prolific batter was penalized for kicking the stumps after his dismissal in the 43rd over, earning him a Level 1 violation under Article 2.2 of the ICC Code, which addresses \u201cabuse of cricket equipment, clothing, ground equipment, or fixtures and fittings during an International Match.\u201d
\nHeinrich Klaasen was also involved in a verbal scuffle with Pakistan\u2019s captain Mohammad Rizwan during his time as the crease. Match Referee Richie Richardson also added one demerit point to Heinrich Klaasen\u2019s disciplinary record.
\nDespite his frustration, Heinrich Klaasen\u2019s innings was a valiant effort. He scored a brilliant 97 off 74 balls to chase Pakistan\u2019s daunting 330-run target. However, with little support from the other end, South Africa ultimately fell short by 81 runs, handing Pakistan a series-clinching 2-0 lead.
\nWith the series already decided, the third and final ODI will occur in Johannesburg on Sunday, December 22.
\nPakistan will look to complete a clean sweep, while South Africa and Heinrich Klaasen aim to salvage pride in front of their home crowd.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
