{"id":452187,"date":"2024-12-29T00:04:27","date_gmt":"2024-12-28T19:04:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/leadpakistan.com.pk\/news\/?p=452187"},"modified":"2024-12-29T00:04:27","modified_gmt":"2024-12-28T19:04:27","slug":"power-minister-vows-to-deliver-affordable-electricity-to-people","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/leadpakistan.com.pk\/news\/power-minister-vows-to-deliver-affordable-electricity-to-people\/","title":{"rendered":"Power Minister vows to deliver affordable electricity to people"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> Islamabad<br \/>\nMinister for Power Sardar Awais Ahmad Khan Leghari has reaffirmed the government\u2019s commitment to deliver affordable electricity to the people.<br \/>\nPresenting the government\u2019s key achievements in the Power Sector during the last nine months in Islamabad today, he said the power sector witnessed significant reduction in electricity prices.<br \/>\nThe average price of electricity has decreased to 44.04 rupees per unit from 48.70 rupees per unit in June 2024, marking a reduction of 4.66 rupees.<br \/>\nHe said industrial electricity prices have also seen a significant drop to 47.17 rupees per unit, from 58.50 rupees per unit in June 2024, reflecting a reduction of 11.33 rupees.<br \/>\nHighlighting reforms undertaken in last nine months, he said the government eliminated one hundred fifty billion rupees in cross-subsidies from industrial sector, which has boosted industrial growth.<br \/>\nHe said government is diligently working on upgrading the transmission sector including the trifurcation of NTDC into three entities.<br \/>\nThe Minister said circular debt are being shifted from electricity bills to the national debt to reduce burden on the consumers.<br \/>\nHe also announced that government plans to introduce special tariffs for electric vehicles under a forthcoming EV policy.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Islamabad Minister for Power Sardar Awais Ahmad Khan Leghari has reaffirmed the government\u2019s commitment to deliver affordable electricity to the people.
