\nPTI\u2019s central information secretary, Sheikh Waqas Akram, stated that the founder of PTI\u2019s call for civil disobedience was aimed at overseas Pakistanis.
\nDue to the current situation, civil disobedience had to be observed. The first phase of the movement is ongoing and will continue. He expressed these views during a press conference at the Information Cell, Civil Secretariat, Peshawar.
\nSheikh Waqas Akram further said that they are fighting for several rights, including the right to vote for overseas Pakistanis.
\nOverseas Pakistanis and their families have been threatened, blackmailed, arrested, and subjected to violence. If the interests of overseas Pakistanis are not protected here, how can we expect remittances from them? Overseas Pakistanis are being threatened with the cancellation of their passports.
\nThe country benefits economically from the remittances of overseas Pakistanis.
\nIn response to a question, Sheikh Waqas Akram said that the release of prisoners is not a result of negotiations, and we completely deny this.
\nAll these prisoners have served their sentences, and some may have one or two months left. We have asked overseas Pakistanis to make sacrifices, but we have not forced them.
\nSheikh Waqas Akram said that the call for civil disobedience is serious, and it will continue.
\nIf overseas Pakistanis are treated this way, they will not send money. This is a huge blow to the fake government. The founder\u2019s call is still ongoing, it has not stopped.
\nThe judicial inquiry into the events of May 9 and November 26, and the release of prisoners, are demands from the founder. The founder\u2019s priority is the release of prisoners from May 9 and November 26 before his own release.
\nWe are not seeking a deal; we will observe the progress of negotiations based on the government\u2019s seriousness. The founder of PTI will come out under the judicial system.
