\nVice Chancellor Khyber Medical University Prof. Dr. Zia ul Haq, Inaugurated Postgraduate Medical Education Block at Divisional Headquarters Hospital, KDA Kohat here on Friday.
\nAccording to KMU media cell, the new block marked a significant milestone in the history of the teaching hospital.
\nThe ceremony began with a warm welcome by Prof. Dr. Musarrat Jabeen, Principal of KMU Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) Kohat, who hailed the project as a revolutionary step towards enhancing medical standards and training.
\nFormer CEO of PGMI Peshawar, Prof. Dr. Sahibzada Mahmood Noor, current CEO Prof. Dr. Muhammad Noor Wazir, and senior officials from the local administration, including the Commissioner, Deputy Commissioner, Commandant CMH, faculty members, trainee medical officers, and a large number of dignitaries.
\nDuring the event, Vice Chancellor KMU and other guests toured various key hospital facilities. They visited the state-of-the-art ICU, including the newly installed oxygen plant, and appreciated its role in improving patient care.
\nAdditionally, the Vice Chancellor reviewed designated areas for upcoming CT scan and MRI facilities, expressing his commitment to their swift implementation, which would significantly enhance diagnostic services in the region.
\nIn his address, Prof. Dr. Zia ul Haq announced a grant of 5 million PKR for the improvement of the hospital\u2019s operation theater.
\nThis contribution aims to upgrade surgical services to meet international standards, benefiting both healthcare providers and patients.
\nIt is worth mentioning that the newly inaugurated Postgraduate Medical Education Block will house several essential facilities, including consultant radiologists\u2019 offices, an ICU, the oxygen plant, offices for the Medical Superintendent, a library, an auditorium, and offices for the Associate Dean.
\nIn her concluding remarks, Prof. Dr. Musarrat Jabeen thanked all the distinguished guests and participants.
