Barrister Saif confirms the Deputy Commissioner\u2019s stable condition, President Zardari condemns the attack

\nA firing attack on official vehicles in the Lower Kurram region of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) province left the Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Kurram district, Javed Allah Mehsud, injured.
\nThe incident occurred in the Baggan area when unknown assailants opened fire on government vehicles, Express News reported.
\nAccording to initial reports, the deputy commissioner sustained injuries and was immediately rushed to the Lower Ali Zai hospital. A police officer also suffered injuries in the attack.
\nLocal authorities have confirmed that the DC is in stable condition, and arrangements are underway to transfer him to Peshawar via helicopter for further treatment.
\nThe local administration has confirmed additional incidents of stone pelting and firing near Irfani Killi in the region, though the extent of damage and casualties remains unclear.
\nAuthorities Respond to Attack
\nIn a statement, Barrister Dr. Saif, the KP government\u2019s advisor on information, assured the public that the deputy commissioner, who had been injured in the attack, was no longer in a critical condition.
\n\u201cThe deputy commissioner has been transferred from Alizai Hospital to the CMH Tull for further treatment,\u201d Dr. Saif said. \u201cHis surgery is ongoing, but his condition is stable.\u201d
\nThe convoy, which had been stopped following the attack, will soon resume its journey to Parachinar, he confirmed.
\nDr. Saif also noted that the situation was fully under control, with security forces managing the area and preventing further escalation.
\n\u201cWe are appealing to both Sunni and Shia communities to remain peaceful and not fall victim to any conspiracies,\u201d Dr. Saif added, emphasising the need for unity and calm. The attack on the convoy is believed to be part of a malicious plot by unknown miscreants.
\nThe K-P government\u2019s spokesperson also called on the public to avoid spreading misinformation and to trust the ongoing clearance operations, which will allow the convoy to continue its journey shortly. Local authorities are committed to ensuring the safety and security of all passengers

\nIn a statement released by the President\u2019s Secretariat Press Wing, President Zardari expressed his deep concern over the incident. The president prayed for the swift recovery of the deputy commissioner and others injured in the attack.
\n\u201cThe elements behind this act of violence aim to create chaos and disrupt peace efforts in the region,\u201d Zardari stated. He urged the people of Kurram and the wider public to remain united and not let these miscreants succeed in their attempts to destabilise the area.
