Shan Masood-led side trials by 208 runs after Jansen ousts Babar Azam (81) to break opening partnership

\nPakistan\u2019s Shan Masood and Babar Azam brought the Green Shirts back into the game with their 80-run stand before tea after South Africa enforced a follow on the third day of the second and last Test match being played at the Newlands Cricket Ground in Cape Town on Sunday.
\nThe duo had begun batting as Pakistan trailed by 421 runs against the home side and with a play of just 17 overs, the scoreboard was ticking at 80.
\nThe skipper had added 37 runs off 54 balls with ace batter Babar scoring 34 off just 51 deliveries.
\nReturning from the tea break, the pair continued hitting runs leaving the South African bowling attack bamboozled.
\nMasood and Babar had begun the second inning with a trail of 421 runs and they took the trail to 278 runs by batting for just 32 overs with the skipper and his partner adding 71 and 59 runs respectively.
\nEarlier in Pakistan\u2019s first innings, the visiting side were in complete shambles after they began the play on Day 3 against South Africa.
\nBabar and Mohammad Rizwan returned to the pavilion in quick successions after scoring 58 and 46 runs respectively.
\nThe fall of Babar-Rizwan prompted a flow of wickets as the remaining batters Salman Ali Agha, Aamer Jamal, Khurram Shahzad and Mir Hamza fell in quick successions.
\nEarlier in the first inning, Pakistan had batting on the third day from 64-3 with Babar Azam (31*) and Mohammad Rizwan (9*) on the crease, the national side are trailing by 551 runs owing to the hosts\u2019 mammoth 615-run total in the first innings.
\nA day earlier, the visitors faced a dismal start to their first innings as they lost back-to-back three wickets including the wicket of captain Shan Masood.
\nMasood fell to Rabada in the first over of the innings. Kamran Ghulam followed him in the sixth over putting Green Shirts in danger with a score of 18-2.
\nRabada struck again on the fourth ball of the ninth over and dismissed Saud Shakeel on a duck.
\nThe Green Shirts, are already down 1-0 against the Proteas and would need to win the second Test if they are to level the two-match series.
\nEarlier in the match, the home side\u2019s makeshift opener Ryan Rickelton helped his team reach an impressive 615 runs in the first innings via his 259-run knock.
\nPakistan\u2019s bowling attack was left bamboozled from the onslaught of the South African batters with Kyle Verreynne also scoring a ton from just 147 balls.
\nMohammad Abbas and Salman Ali Agha managed to bag three wickets each, whereas Mir Hamza and Khuram Shahzad dismissed two batters each.
