KP-CM inaugurates health sciences institute at UoP

\nKhyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur has officially inaugurated the newly established Institute of Health Sciences under the University of Peshawar.
\nThe institute will offer BS degree programs in seven diverse fields, including Medical Laboratory Technology, Radiology, Cardiology, Dental Technology, Surgical Technology, Optometry, and Emergency Services, said a handout.
\nLooking ahead, the institute plans to expand its academic offerings to include BS Nursing and other health technologies, the statement said.
\nDuring the inauguration ceremony, CM Gandapur highlighted the significance of this initiative as a practical step toward the provincial government\u2019s vision of creating financially stable and sustainable government universities.
\nHe praised the university administration for their swift execution in establishing the institute and expressed hope that the objectives of the institute would be successfully achieved.
\nThe Chief Minister emphasized that the Institute of Health Sciences would address the shortage of trained professionals in the health sector, contributing to both the financial stability of the university and the enhancement of the healthcare system in the province. He also noted the importance of making institutions self-sufficient, stating that when institutions stand on their own feet, the province will thrive.
\nIn his speech, CM Gandapur also outlined various reforms that have been implemented in the province, such as the establishment of a debt management fund and measures to increase the provincial revenue by 45cp. Additionally, he reiterated the government\u2019s commitment to improving healthcare and education, stating that while the construction of new buildings takes time, they are utilizing existing structures to begin teaching and learning processes immediately.
\nFurthermore, the Chief Minister announced that the long-standing issue of promotions for University of Peshawar faculty members would be resolved as a priority.
\nHe stressed the importance of transferring authority to lower levels in order to improve service delivery, reinforcing his belief that empowering institutions and people would lead to stronger development.
\nThe event was also attended by Provincial Minister for Higher Education Meena Khan Afridi, Secretary of Higher Education Kamran Ahmed Afridi, and Vice Chancellor of the University of Peshawar, Professor Dr Muhammad Naeem Qazi, who also addressed the ceremony.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
