Students reject grace marks granted by a university in Islamabad

\nA large number of students on Tuesday staged a protest against a federal university for granting 14 additional grace marks to students, arguing that the decision unfairly affected the rights of successful candidates from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
\nThe protest was organized by the Islami Jamiat Talaba (IJT) outside the Peshawar Press Club.
\nThe student also raised slogans condemning the alleged non-transparency of the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (PMDC).
\nThe demonstration was led by Aftab Hussain, Provincial General Secretary of the Islami Jamiat Talaba, and was attended by Nazim Peshawar Hassan Amin and other officials. Several medical students also participated in the protest,
\nAddressing the gathering, Aftab Hussain criticized the recent decision to grant 14 additional grace marks to students and called for creation of an integrated system that would ensure fairness and protect the rights of medical students in the province.
\nHussain further stated that both the provincial government and the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) were equally responsible for the situation, claiming that they had no right to jeopardize the future of students.
\nHe urged the Vice Chancellor of Khyber Medical University to take immediate notice of the matter and ensure that action was taken against those responsible for the irregularities in the MDCAT process.
\nThe Provincial General Secretary also expressed concern over the ongoing impact on the education sector in KP since the PTI government came into power. He demanded that both the federal and provincial governments, along with the PMDC, address the grievances of medical students and take swift action to resolve the issues.
\nIn the protest, students carried placards with slogans criticizing the government and the PMDC for their handling of the MDCAT test, while reiterating their solidarity with the affected students of KP.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
