Ambassador of Japan to Pakistan Akamatsu Shui Chi called on Governor Punjab Sardar Saleem Haider Khan and discussed strengthening of bilateral ties in the fields of agriculture, economy, and culture during a meeting at the Governor\u2019s House, here on Wednesday.
\nThe governor said Pakistan and Japan have cordial relations, adding that these relations would be taken to new heights as per vision of President Asif Ali Zardari. Sardar Saleem Haider said due to fertile land and climate in Pakistan, the taste of fruits and vegetables here is famous all over the world. He said: \u201cWe look forward to cooperation of Japan in the field of agriculture.\u201d He said that Japanese automobiles were very popular in Pakistan for their quality and durability. He said that Japanese companies could take advantage of economic opportunities in various sectors in Pakistan, including the automobile sector.
\nThe governor said exchange of business and cultural delegations between Pakistan and Japan would further expand bilateral relations. He hailed support of the Japanese government for preservation of artifacts in the Taxila Museum. He assured the Japanese ambassador of the cooperation of the Governor\u2019s House regarding solution to the problems of engineers working in Japanese companies and the security of the Japanese people living in Pakistan.
\nJapanese Ambassador Akamatsu Shui Chi said that about 80 Japanese companies were working in Pakistan. He stressed the need to increase people-to-people contacts between Pakistan and Japan.
