\nMs. Sajida, an LLM scholar in the Department of Shariah, Faculty of Law and Shariah, at the International Islamic University (IIUI), Islamabad, has successfully defended her dissertation titled \u201cThe Impact of Colonialism on Women\u2019s Right to Inheritance: A Critical Evaluation Under Shariah and the Pakistani Legal System.\u201d
\nHailing from the Lower Dir district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Ms Sajida\u2019s research offers an in-depth analysis of the complex interplay tradition, legal framework, and societal norms that shape women\u2019s inheritance rights.
\nHer study critically examines the societal norms and traditional practices that hinder the enforcement of inheritance rights, while also evaluating the impact of colonial era practices and the role of Pakistan\u2019s legislative and social structures in shaping these rights.
\nThe research traces the evolution of women\u2019s inheritance rights from the colonial period to the present day, with a focus on the challenges of enforcing these rights under contemporary laws.
\nAfter the successful public defence of her dissertation, Ms Sajida also passed tests in Hifz-e-Quran, the translation, and exegesis of the last para of the Holy Quran, and was subsequently admitted to the award of LLM degree.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
