\nThe Collector Sales Tax on Services, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Revenue Authority (KPRA), Maqsood Hassan, visited the Regional Office North in Abbottabad on Friday to meet with the KPRA team and conduct review of overall revenue collection.
\nHe was accompanied by KPRA Advisor for Tax Enforcement Fazal Amin Shah and Deputy Director Communication Sohail Raza Khattak.
\nAdditional Collector KPRA North, Muhammad Abbas Khan, warmly welcomed the delegation. The Collector was given a comprehensive briefing on the revenue collection performance of the North Region.
\nDuring the briefing, the Collector reviewed sector-wise revenue data and inquired about the factors behind sudden fluctuations in revenue collection from certain sectors.
\nIt was shared that the North Region has been assigned a revenue target of Rs. 3.1 billion for the financial year 2024-25. So far, the region has collected Rs. 2.05 billion, achieving 65% of the assigned target. The team expressed confidence in not only meeting the target but exceeding it by a significant margin.
\nThe Collector lauded the efforts of the North Region team and emphasized the need for additional measures to enhance revenue collection in underperforming sectors.
\n\u201cYou have done a commendable job so far, and I am confident that you can achieve your annual target. However, you need to develop a robust plan and devise strategies to boost revenue collection in weaker sectors. This will ensure you surpass your target by a considerable margin,\u201d he remarked.
\nHe further urged the team to identify new avenues for revenue growth in the remaining period of the ongoing financial year.
\nThe Advisor KPRA and the Collector directed the North Region team to focus on monitoring and enforcement drives, particularly in the hospitality sector, including restaurants, hotels, wedding halls, and guest houses.
