\nThe Awami National Party (ANP) has postponed its jalsa, which was set to be held in tribal district Bajaur on Wednesday (today), after the provincial government cancelled the non-objection certificate issued to the party.
\nIn a statement issued here the provincial spokesperson of ANP Arsalan Khan Nazim has criticized the PTI provincial government\u2019s failure to establish peace and order in the region, particularly in the newly merged districts. Despite the merger, he pointed out that tribal belts remain off-limits to certain political parties, including the ANP, citing persistent opposition to terrorism and the lack of peace.
\nHe highlighted the government\u2019s incompetence through the cancellation of a scheduled meeting in Bajaur on January 22, which was supposed to attend central leaders like Amil Wali Khan.
\nThe refusal of the district administration to provide security for the meeting was framed as a failure on the part of the provincial government. Nazim emphasized that the people in these districts were still living under what he described as the \u201cundeclared FCR\u201d (Frontier Crimes Regulation), which deprives them of the rights and benefits promised by the 25th Constitutional Amendment.
\nThe ANP maintains that it is their right to organize meetings, and the government is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of such events.
\nHe criticized the PTI-led provincial government, claiming that it has failed to protect its people, and accused the party of being sympathetic to terrorism.
\nNazim vowed that the ANP\u2019s struggle for peace, rights, and resources for the Pakhtuns would not be deterred, and promised that the public meeting would be rescheduled soon.
