\nBangladesh\u2019s Ambassador to Pakistan, His Excellency Muhammad Iqbal Hussain Khan, has underscored the importance of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) as a pivotal project for global connectivity and economic prosperity. He stated that the BRI would serve as a milestone in fostering trade and financial development by linking countries through extensive road networks. The ambassador expressed these views during his visit to China Window, a Chinese cultural and information center in Peshawar. He was accompanied by senior Bangladeshi diplomats stationed in Pakistan.
\nDuring the visit, Ambassador Khan explored various galleries of China Window, where he gained insights into the cultural, economic, and technological advancements of China. He also signed the Friendship Wall as a symbol of goodwill and recorded his impressions in the center\u2019s guestbook.
\nAddressing students enrolled in Chinese language courses at the center, Ambassador Khan stressed the significance of linguistic skills in today\u2019s globalized world. He remarked that nations which embrace multilingualism alongside their native languages are better positioned to progress and compete internationally.
\n\u201cLearning diverse languages is the key to unlocking global job opportunities, and I highly commend the efforts of China Window in providing Chinese language education to the youth of Peshawar,\u201d he added.
\nLater, while speaking to the media, Ambassador Khan emphasized the longstanding and friendly relations between Pakistan and Bangladesh. He noted that both countries are on a steady path of development and encouraged mutual investment in various sectors, particularly trade and industry. \u201cThere are vast opportunities for investors from both nations, and I believe they should seize these opportunities for mutual benefit,\u201d he stated. He also expressed optimism regarding the initiation of direct flights between Pakistan and Bangladesh in the near future to further boost economic and cultural ties.
\nAmbassador Khan shared his delight in visiting Peshawar, highlighting its rich cultural heritage and economic potential. On the first day of his visit, he attended a briefing at the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Economic Zones Management Company, where he was informed about the establishment of several special economic zones aimed at fostering economic growth and creating employment opportunities in the province.
\nHe also visited the Institute of Management Sciences (IMSciences), where he engaged with students and faculty, discussing potential areas of collaboration in education and skill development. During his three-day visit, the ambassador is scheduled to meet with local traders and industrialists to explore business opportunities and further strengthen bilateral trade relations.
\nCommenting on Bangladesh\u2019s recent progress, Ambassador Khan noted that following the youth-driven revolution, the country has achieved remarkable stability and economic growth. \u201cBangladesh is now on the road to success, and we are committed to strengthening regional cooperation with our neighboring countries,\u201d he affirmed.
