{"id":457668,"date":"2025-01-26T09:25:42","date_gmt":"2025-01-26T04:25:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/leadpakistan.com.pk\/news\/?p=457668"},"modified":"2025-01-26T09:25:42","modified_gmt":"2025-01-26T04:25:42","slug":"sindh-govt-takes-action-over-chinese-investors-allegations-against-police","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/leadpakistan.com.pk\/news\/sindh-govt-takes-action-over-chinese-investors-allegations-against-police\/","title":{"rendered":"Sindh govt takes action over Chinese investors\u2019 allegations against police"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> KARACHI<br \/>\nA day after some Chinese investors have invoked Sindh High Court jurisdiction seeking security from alleged harassment of local police, Sindh Home Minister Ziaul Hasan Lanjar issued directives to the provincial police chief to initiate inquiry of the matter.<br \/>\nMaking the Federal Interior Ministry, Chief Secretary Sindh, Inspector General of Sindh Police, Chinese Consulate and others as respondents on Friday, a group of Chinese investors filed a petition before Sindh High Court (SHC) alleging police of demanding bribes from the airport to their residences and creating obstacles in their day to day activities. The petitioner submitted that Pakistan\u2019s top leadership has invited them including Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to invest in Pakistan saying yet they face constant harassment.<br \/>\nIn response to the plea, the SHC sought a reply from all the respondents in a month. However, Sindh Home Minister Ziaul Hasan Lanjar took notice of Chinese investor\u2019s complaints against Sindh police and directed Inspector General (IG) of Sindh Police, Ghulam Nabi Memon, to initiate an inquiry into the matter and appoint a senior police officer to oversee the investigation.<br \/>\nLanjar said the Sindh government and police are committed to providing foolproof security to non-CPEC Chinese nationals according to the SOPs. The Home Minister directed the police officials to identify and address any security gaps.
