\nMembers of the Aman Jirga Khyber Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Tuesday staged a protest against rising incidents of killing, violence, abduction, and torture faced by the transgender people, demanding protection and justice for the community.
\nThe demonstration was led by the president of Aman Jirga Syed Kamal Shah, Bahadur Khan, Malik Arshullah, provincial president transgender community Farzana, and others. Speakers at the protest stated that over 80,000 transgender persons in the province were living in fear, facing threats of murder, kidnapping, physical abuse, and even ransom calls.
\nThe protestors called for immediate and concrete measures to ensure the safety and security of the community, who have long been marginalized and subjected to violence in society.
\nSyed Kamal Shabash, a key speaker at the protest, emphasized that the protection of every citizen, including transgender persons, was the government\u2019s responsibility. \u201cThe state and its agencies cannot shirk their duty to provide safety to all citizens, regardless of their gender identity or background,\u201d he stated.
\nShah further urged the government to take urgent steps to guarantee the protection of the community, calling on law enforcement agencies to ensure their security.
\nThe protest ended peacefully, with participants dispersing after voicing their concerns and demands.
\nThe demonstrators vowed to continue their advocacy until tangible steps are taken to address the ongoing human rights violations and provide eunuchs with the protection they deserve.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
