\nPakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) claims that a letter written by Imran Khan to the army chief has unsettled government officials, and drawn strong reactions from the governing coalition.
\nWithout refering to the army chief, Barrister Dr Muhammad Ali Saif , spokesperson for the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa government, alleged that the letter had created panic within the federal government, though he did not name any specific officials.
\nHe claimed that ministers from the \u201cfake government\u201d had launched propaganda even before the letter reached its intended recipients.
\n\u201cThe ruling party\u2019s leaders have lost sleep over Imran Khan\u2019s letter,\u201d Saif said in a statement, adding that senior Pakistan Muyslim League\u2013Nawaz (PML-N) figures were \u201cvisibly disturbed.\u201d
\nPTI has repeatedly accused the government of using legal and administrative tactics to suppress the opposition.
\nSaif asserted that once Khan is released, his party will hold the governing coalition accountable for what he described as \u201cunlawful actions and political victimisation.\u201d
\nThe letter, reportedly addressed to senior military leadership, has yet to receive an official response.
\nEarlier this week, contrary to the claims made by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), security sources have revealed that no letter from former prime minister Imran Khan was received by Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir.
\nSources familiar with the matter stated that the news regarding Khan\u2019s letter reached the military leadership through the media, not through any formal communication.
\nThe controversy began when PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan and Khan\u2019s lawyer, Faisal Chaudhry, informed the media that Khan had written a letter to the army chief, urging him to \u201creevaluate policy.\u201d
\nSpeaking outside Rawalpindi\u2019s Adiala jail, Chaudhry elaborated that the former premier, in his capacity as PTI supremo and ex-prime minister, had sent a six-point letter to General Munir.
