\nAdvisor to the Chief Minister on health Ihtesham Ali has directed medical superintendents to focus on hospital administrative matters, conduct regular morning and evening visits to various hospital departments, and pay attention to cleanliness and other operations.
\nFollowing continuous visits to hospitals, CM aide on health Ihtesham Ali has issued instructions to medical superintendents. The Directorate General of Health Services has issued a circular to all MS of Category A, B, C, and D hospitals.
\nThe circular states that based on the recent visits by the Health Advisor to various hospitals, all relevant medical superintendents are directed to conduct supervisory visits to different hospital departments regularly in the morning and evening.
\nAccording to the directives, all hospital areas, including wards, OPDs, diagnostic sections, and washrooms, should be maintained in a clean and hygienic condition.
\nThe circular further instructs medical superintendents to review patient admission and discharge registers in wards to ensure accurate entries according to DHIS-2 guidelines.
\nMS are also directed to assess the availability and condition of bedding in wards to ensure that bed sheets are clean and properly maintained.
\nThe instructions emphasize that MS should ensure consultants, specialists, and medical officers perform their assigned duties during morning and evening shifts. Additionally, the presence of nursing staff and paramedics must be ensured.
\nThe directive also stresses monitoring the functionality and efficiency of diagnostic sections to ensure accurate recording of test results.
\nMS are instructed to evaluate the operational efficiency of OPD services and ensure proper documentation of patient examinations.
\nIt is further instructed that consultants conduct rounds twice daily in wards to address patients\u2019 concerns effectively.
\nThe circular directs MS to ensure the duties of medical officers and specialists are performed per government guidelines.
\nThe directives also include maintaining efficient hospital operations, duty rosters, staff discipline, reviewing the availability of essential medical supplies, ensuring timely patient treatment, and 24\/7 readiness for emergency services.
\nMoreover, MS are instructed to regularly assess the performance of medical, paramedical, and administrative staff, ensure adherence to government policies and medical ethics, and implement infection control measures.
