\nThe Pakistan Physical Therapy Association (PPTA) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has expressed serious concern over the non-payment of salaries to 54 physiotherapists working in District Headquarters Hospitals across the province for the past seven months.
\nThe association has urged the authorities to address the issue immediately to ensure the financial stability of healthcare professionals providing essential services.
\nAccording to PPTA provincial spokesperson Dr Bbabar Wardag,
\nthe Project \u201cStrengthening of Rehabilitation Services for Physically Disabled\u201d Health Department KP was an ongoing project approved with a total cost of Rs464.308 million with an aim to establish and strengthen the Physiotherapy and Physical rehabilitation services for people with disabilities (PWDs) in KP.
\nUnder this project, Physiotherapy units were established in 24 DHQ Hospitals of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa by providing HR and equipped them with Physiotherapy & Gymnasium equipment to provide Physiotherapy and rehabilitation services not limited to Physical disable but also providing
\nrehabilitation services to pediatric and Geriatrics Population, post operative conditions, musculoskeletal and neurological
\nconditions as well.
\nTotal no of 57 (M\/F) Physiotherapist (BPS-17) & 03 ministerial Staff deputed under the said project in respective DHQ Hospital of KP where an average of 35 to 60 patients per day are getting Physiotherapy services at each
\nDHQ Hospital of KP.
\nDr Babar Wardag told the News that till June 2022, a total 411854 Patients were provided free of cost Physiotherapy services in DHQ Hospitals of KP.
\nNow, the PC-I for 2 years (2024-26) with total cost of Revised PC-I
\n561.569 million is approved by Health and Finance department but it is pending for the approval from P&D and Chief Secretary of PK, due to which the salaries are of all Physiotherapists are stopped since 7 months which has increased the stress in employees and majority of employees may quit if their salary is not released before the commence of Raman ul Mubarak.
\nHe requested the Chief Minister KP to pay special attention towards release of salary and regularization of Physiotherapists so that Physiotherapy services in the province remain uninterrupted.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
