PESHAWAR: The Provincial Vice President of the Frontier Printers and Publishers Association Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Mushtaq Ahmed Khalil, has urged the government to include local publishers in the printing of textbooks for grades nine to twelve. He warned that the transfer of textbook board work to Punjab has left 14,000 skilled workers in Peshawar unemployed. Calling the decision unfair, he urged the Chief Minister to intervene immediately and address their concerns. Khalil stated that the printing industry in KP was already struggling due to government policies, and excluding local publishers would further harm the sector. \u201cIf our demands are not met, the press fraternity will stage a protest and hold a sit-in outside the Chief Minister\u2019s office,\u201d he warned, adding that he would also approach the Peshawar High Court to push for the return of textbook board work to Peshawar.
