\nAdvisor to the Chief Minister on finance Muzammil Aslam on Saturday claimed that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa\u2019s one-year performance has outpaced the federal government and other provinces.
\nIn a video message, Aslam highlighted KP\u2019s financial achievements, stating that the province delivered a record surplus budget and introduced a comprehensive performance report in the form of a book titled \u201c25 Sectors, 25 Achievements.\u201d
\nHe also criticized Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz\u2019s 60-page advertisements, calling KP\u2019s approach a model for governance.
\nAslam stated that the province presented a 169 billion surplus budget in the first six months, surpassing the Rs 100 billion target.
\n200 percent increase in mineral royalties and introduction of transit tax is among the performance of the province , he added and said that the province setup Debt Management Fund with an initial Rs 30 billion, with another Rs 40 billion to be added soon.
\nCM aide on finance furthered that the KP government allocated Rs 15 billion for Ehsaas programs to ensure social welfare support and brought reforms in the pension and tax system, adding that the incumbent PTI led provincial government also cleared Rs 70 billion of the previous government in one year.
\nThe provincial government has so far released 50% of development funds and 25% increase planned over the original budget, he added.
\nAlso, Aslam credited PTI founder Imran Khan for entrusting him with financial responsibilities despite having no political background.
\nHe assured that KP would easily meet the Rs 178 billion surplus target set by the IMF, contrasting this with the federal government\u2019s revenue shortfall of Rs 606 billion.
\nThe KP government has also optimized spending, cutting excess costs while purchasing more medicines with less money and allocating Rs 10 billion for free school books, he said.
