\nStudents from various regions of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have voiced serious concerns over the deteriorating law and order situation in the province, stating that the recent wave of terrorism is severely impacting students and educational institutions. They urged the federal and provincial governments to set aside their differences and prioritize restoring peace in the region.
\nIn response to the escalating security crisis, students have announced the launch of a movement for peace, transcending political and religious sectarian divides, in collaboration with various student organizations.
\nAddressing a press conference at the Peshawar Press Club (PPC) here on Thursday, Law student Asfandyar Rabbani, along with Pharmacy students Junaid Iqbal, Waqas Ahmed, and others, emphasized the urgent need to raise their voices against the worsening law and order situation.
\n\u201cKhyber Pakhtunkhwa is in the grip of terrorism, severely affecting the general public. If left unchecked, this crisis could engulf the entire province and the country. Students and the education system are at grave risk,\u201d said Asfandyar Rabbani. He warned that growing frustration and despair among students could lead to an explosive situation if their concerns are not addressed.
\nHe urged students and teachers to become advocates for peace and stability, promoting a balanced narrative. \u201cWe reject both religious extremism and liberal extremism. Our movement is based on a peace-centric approach that serves only the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa,\u201d he added.
\nThe student movement will focus on mobilizing youth through peace conventions, dialogues, rallies, and referendums in educational institutions. According to Rabbani, all political parties will be consulted, and governments will be given a chance to take corrective measures. However, he warned that if authorities fail to act, students will stage strong protests. \u201cWe will take the public, employees of all institutions, and student and teacher organizations into confidence. The need of the hour is to foster trust and harmony across society,\u201d he stated.
\nThe students also questioned the performance of security forces and institutions in addressing the security crisis, urging them to clarify their role in ensuring public safety. \u201cWe are launching this movement solely for peace, beyond any sect, ideology, party, or group-based bias,\u201d they declared.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
