\nThe Awami National Party (ANP) has expressed serious concern over the ongoing crisis at the Torkham border and the deteriorating law and order situation in Kurram\u2019s Parachinar, criticizing the government\u2019s inaction in addressing these pressing issues.
\nANP leader Aimal Wali Khan stated that the current federal and provincial governments have failed to resolve the basic problems of the people. He highlighted that clashes between Pakistani and Afghan forces at the Torkham border have continued for the past three weeks, leading to the complete suspension of trade activities and creating immense hardships for people on both sides.
\n\u201cThousands of trucks, containers, and commercial vehicles remain stranded within Pakistani territory, causing daily financial losses worth billions. Small traders, laborers, and those who rely on daily trade are being pushed into economic despair,\u201d he said.
\nKhan criticized the government\u2019s silence on the issue, stating that using force to resolve diplomatic disputes amounts to hostility toward the people. He urged authorities to adopt diplomatic channels for conflict resolution and demanded the immediate reopening of the Torkham border for trade and general movement.
\nRegarding the worsening situation in Parachinar, the ANP leader lamented that the people of Kurram have been suffering for the past five months due to the closure of the Tal-Parachinar main highway. \u201cEven during the holy month of Ramadan, residents remain besieged, struggling for basic necessities,\u201d he said.
\nHe questioned the state\u2019s capacity to maintain order, asking, \u201cHas the state become so weak that it cannot even reopen the main highway of a district?\u201d He urged the federal government to take immediate action to restore safe access to the region, warning against further escalation of the crisis.
\n\u201cThe people of Kurram and neighboring areas should not be pushed further into turmoil. Plans to displace communities and turn the region into a battlefield must be abandoned,\u201d he stressed.
\nThe ANP has called on the government to prioritize these urgent matters instead of engaging in political theatrics, emphasizing the need for immediate intervention to alleviate the suffering of the affected populations.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
