\nThe caretaker government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has been accused of massive corruption, with startling revelations made by the Special Assistant to the Chief Minister for Anti-Corruption, Musaddiq Abbasi. Speaking at a press conference held at the Civil Secretariat, Abbasi disclosed that corruption worth Rs. 2 billion has been uncovered in the procurement of medicines, a figure he warns could rise to Rs. 4 billion.
\nHe further shared that in the last six months, the provincial government recovered billions of rupees in public funds and reclaimed vast tracts of land. Highlighting the government\u2019s commitment to combating corruption, Abbasi announced plans to launch awareness initiatives across all provincial departments in the coming days.
\nIntroducing a groundbreaking reform model, Abbasi outlined the \u201cAmr Bil Maroof Anti-Corruption\u201d framework, which has received cabinet approval and is being implemented for the first time. Key government departments, including Higher Education, Auqaf, and Elementary Education, are part of this initiative.
\nAs part of the reforms, departmental steering committees will be formed, and schools will incorporate Quran recitation, Allama Iqbal\u2019s speeches, the national anthem, and Durood Sharif into their daily assemblies. In addition, the establishment of the Rahmat-ul-Alameen Research Center has been made mandatory to promote ethical and educational values.
\nUniversities will also spearhead anti-corruption campaigns and character-building programs, while community reform groups are set to be organized from the Deputy Commissioner level to grassroots levels.
\nVillage-level initiatives, such as charity and jirga committees, will also play a role in fostering transparency and accountability.
\nAbbasi emphasized the importance of celebrating integrity, announcing plans to identify and spotlight outstanding individuals working in government institutions.
