\nThe Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced on Friday that Director of Media and Communications Sami Ul Hasan has stepped down from his role.
\nHasan rejoined PCB in March 2019 after spending 13 years with the International Cricket Council (ICC) in Dubai, where his last assignment was Head of Media and Communications.
\nHe also served as PCB\u2019s General Manager \u2013 Media from 2002 to 2004, following a 14-year career as a cricket correspondent for the Dawn newspaper.
\nPCB Chief Operating Officer Sumair Ahmad Syed lauded Sami\u2019s contributions as an important board member and highlighted his vast experience.
\n\u201cSami has been an important member of the PCB\u2019s executive team, bringing vast experience and expertise to the organisation, \u201d he said.
\n\u201cHis contributions in shaping modern communication strategies, strengthening media relations and elevating the digital landscape have been invaluable.\u201d
\nSumair Ahmed thanked Sami for his services, stating that Sami\u2019s leadership was pivotal in enhancing PCB\u2019s engagement with various stakeholders.
\n\u201cUnder his leadership, the Media, Communications and Digital department has played a key role in significantly enhancing the PCB\u2019s engagement with stakeholders \u2013 both locally and globally \u2013 most notably in the lead up to and during the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. \u201d
\n\u201cOn behalf of the PCB, I extend our gratitude to Sami for his dedication and professionalism and wish him success in his future endeavors, \u201d he said.
\nSami Ul Hasan expressed gratitude for his time with the PCB, highlighting the growth of the Media, Communications and Digital team as a key achievement.
\n\u201d It has been a privilege to serve the PCB for the second time and contribute to its growth during a transformative period. I step away with immense satisfaction, knowing that the Media, Communications and Digital team has evolved into one of the most respected and highly professional departments, \u201d he remarked.
