\nGovernor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi on Wednesday underlined the need for provicial government to take tangible measures for improving security situation in the province.
\nHe said that security forces were playing effective role on their part and making sacrifices for the sake of peace. Similarly the state was fulfilling its responsibilities and after 18th admendment it was responsibility of the Chief Executive of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the Chief Minister, to ensure the protection of the lives and property of the people.
\nTalking to media, during the Eid occasion, where he met with Pakistan Peoples Party officials, workers, and local dignitaries to exchange Eid greetings at his residence, he told media that this issue also came under discussion in the recently-hled meeting of the National Security Council and expressed regret that some political parties had boycotted the session.
\nHe suggested that this indicated their intent to seek concessions from the government for their political purposes.
\nHe also questioned why similar demands were not made when other political leaders were imprisoned in the past.
\nHe said that if anyone was facing corruption allegations, they must face the courts, and the government could not grant anyone an NRO in this regard. He also reffered to Afghanistan\u2019s current situation, saying that it posed a significant challenge for Pakistan, as most terrorism-related incidents were linked to Afghanistan.
\nHe also mentioned that while Pakistan has always supported the Afghan people but it is now time to bring Afghan refugees into the ambit of law.
\nThe Governor highlighted the issues of water scarcity in Sindh and the unresolved matter of the distribution of the NFC (National Finance Commission) award, which requires immediate attention from the federal government.
\nFaisal Karim Kundi also discussed the lack of visible developmental projects in Dera Ismail Khan, stating that if there were any real progress, it would be evident to the public.
\nHe stressed that with the complete support of the federal government, developmental work would continue in Dera, and work on the Dera Chashma Lift Canal would begin before the next fiscal year.
