\nKhyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur chaired a high-level meeting of the Higher Education and Information Technology Department, during which a major decision was taken to establish a state-of-the-art Innovation Hub at the provincial level.
\nA Statement issued here said that the facility will be set up within the University of Peshawar, utilizing the building of the existing incubation center.
\nThe meeting was attended by the Special Assistant to the Chief Minister on Information Technology, secretaries of both departments, and other senior officials.
\nSecretary Higher Education briefed the Chief Minister on the various aspects of the proposed Innovation Hub.
\nThe Innovation Hub will include 22 private offices, two large event halls, a conference room, a board room, two committee rooms, and two co-working spaces, offering a fully equipped and conducive environment for students, freelancers, startups, and IT companies.
\nAll essential services and facilities required for entrepreneurship and innovation will be provided under one roof.
\nIt was highlighted that with the full utilization of available facilities, the Innovation Hub has the potential to generate up to Rs 60 million annually for the university.
\nThe Chief Minister noted that this initiative will not only contribute to the financial stability of the University of Peshawar but also provide meaningful employment opportunities for the youth through the use of modern technology.
\n\u201cThis Innovation Hub will act as a multi-purpose IT center and a breeding ground for young talent and startups in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa,\u201d said CM Gandapur.
\nHe also directed concerned departments to take immediate steps to ensure the early launch of the project.
\nFollowing the successful implementation of this initiative, similar Innovation Hubs will be established in other universities across the province.
\nThe meeting also approved in principle the establishment of Digital Connects at all divisional headquarters. These centers will initially operate in rented buildings and will feature IT parks, co-working spaces, and computer labs, aimed at bringing modern IT facilities to youth in every division.
\n\u201cWe are committed to providing the environment and infrastructure needed for the youth to benefit from IT innovation,\u201d said the Chief Minister.
\n\u201cThe digitization of provincial government institutions is a key priority, and all required funds will be provided without delay.\u201d
