\nIn continuation of the ongoing engagements between the National Vocational and Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC) and CIIC International Education Technology (Beijing) Co. Ltd., initiated under the directives of the Honorable Federal Minister for Federal Education and Professional Training, Mr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, a high-level delegation from CIIC visited NAVTTC headquarters in Islamabad.
\nThe meeting was graced by the presence of the Honorable Federal Minister himself. Executive Director NAVTTC, Mr. Aamir Jan, welcomed the delegation and presented a comprehensive overview of NAVTTC\u2019s mandate, initiatives, and significant achievements in Pakistan\u2019s technical and vocational education and training (TVET) landscape.
\nMr. Wang Kang, Chairman, CIIC Technology Group Co. Ltd., shared that this is their organization\u2019s first to Pakistan since its establishment in 1987. He highlighted CIIC\u2019s global standing among the top 10 companies in the skills development sector and expressed strong interest in partnering with NAVTTC.
\nHe also announced the group\u2019s intention to establish training institutes in collaboration with NAVTTC to develop a critically needed workforce for Chinese companies operating in Pakistan and overseas.
\nThe proposed initiative aims to train 10,000 Pakistani youth in high-demand sectors such as power, minerals, and nuclear energy. To initiate the pilot phase, the first training institute is set to be established in Karachi\u2014Pakistan\u2019s leading industrial hub.
\nExpressing their appreciation for the opportunity, the delegation thanked the Honorable Federal Minister for his support and invited his suggestions to be incorporated into their strategic plans. Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui welcomed the proposal, highlighting the importance of such collaborations in strengthening Pakistan-China bilateral relations and transforming Pakistan\u2019s youth bulge into a productive, future-ready workforce.
\nHe particularly acknowledged the decision to launch the pilot training institute in Karachi, noting the city\u2019s strategic importance as Pakistan\u2019s economic engine and industrial hub, ideally positioned to drive large-scale skills development aligned with national and international labor market demands.
\nChairperson NAVTTC, Ms. Gulmina Bilal Ahmad, suggested that CIIC Technology Group consider partnering with existing TVET service providers during the pilot phase to enable the rapid rollout of training programs.
