\nKhyber Pakhtunkhwa government spokesperson Barrister Saif has strongly criticized the Punjab government, alleging it was attempting to undermine judicial independence under the pretext of the 26th Constitutional Amendment.
\nIn a statement issued on Friday, Mr Saif claimed that the Punjab government, acting on the directions of Maryam Nawaz, was using the constitutional amendment as a tool to violate court orders, particularly in matters related to Adiala Jail.
\nHe accused the Punjab Police of making a mockery of judicial rulings and declared such actions incompatible with democratic principles.
\n\u201cThe judiciary must break free from the constraints being imposed under the guise of the 26th Amendment and take notice of these continuous violations of the Constitution and the law,\u201d he said.
\nKP government spokesperson Barrister Saif also condemned the treatment of former Prime Minister Imran Khan\u2019s sisters, who were allegedly denied the right to meet their brother.
\nHe said they were arrested and abandoned in remote areas\u2014a move he termed \u201ca blatant mockery of court orders and a violation of their constitutional rights.\u201d
\n\u201cMeeting Imran Khan is the legal and constitutional right of his sisters. Treating them in this manner is not only shameful but a disgrace to the rule of law,\u201d Saif stated.
\nHe also warned Maryam Nawaz to remain within the bounds of justice, cautioning that those who orchestrate injustice today may find themselves subjected to it tomorrow. \u201cThe panic of the current government is evident in its fear of even the presence of Imran Khan\u2019s sisters,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
