\nThe final of the Dr. Shah\u2019s Five-A-Side Hockey Tournament took place at the Olympian Hanif Khan and Dr Junaid Ali Shah Sports Complex, Gulshan-e-Iqbal mini Astro turf where Lionesses of the Field triumphed over Pearl Pioneers in a thrilling match.
\nBoth teams engaged in relentless attacks throughout the game, with the outcome decided by 5-3 Goals.the Tournament is being organized by the KHA Women\u2019s Wing and in collaboration with the Karachi Hockey Association.
\nThe Chief Guest of the Closing Ceremony was Dr. Syed Imran Ali Shah, Who Distributed Prizes to the Winner and Runner-up Teams. While the Ceremony Was Presided Over by Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs Sindh Abdul Aleem Lashari.
\nThe chief guest, Dr. Syed Imran Ali Shah, said that girls are no less than anyone in the field of play. I was very impressed by their performance in the final.
\nI will continue to support women\u2019s hockey. Dr. Imran Ali Shah further said that when weddings and commercial activities were held here in 2016, my brother Dr. Junaid Ali Shah became the president of KHA, he installed Astro Turf here and played an important role in the revival of the game of hockey.
\nSecretary Sports Abdul Aleem Lashari said that the Sports Department is supporting the Karachi Hockey Association and will always do so and it is a good thing that young girls of all ages are taking an interest in hockey.
\nHe said that the under-construction hostel of KHA will be completed on time. Speaking on the occasion, Imtiaz Ali Shah, President Karachi Hockey Association, said that when KHA was in ruins in 2016 and sports activities were non-existent here, but today the hockey activities in KHA are at its peak and the ground is looking majestic and all the credit goes to former president Dr. Junaid Ali Shah, who continued his father\u2019s services in sports.
\nHe said that Karachi Hockey Association and KHA ground are indebted to Dr. Junaid Ali Shah. As the President of KHA,he worked day and night to revive the ground and faced forces that are impossible to confront under normal circumstances.
\nOn this occasion, KHA Women\u2019s Wing President Asma Ali Shah said that Syed Imtiaz Ali Shah\u2019s association with KHA as its president is a guarantee of hockey\u2019s success in Karachi.
\nThe hostel under construction at KHA is a gift from Imtiaz Ali Shah, my effort is to provide a strong platform for women hockey players to showcase their talents at the national and international levels.
\nFormer Member of National Assembly Rehan Hashmi, KHA Secretary Olympian Hanif Khan, Olympian Kaleemullah, Olympian Iftikhar Syed, Olympian Wasim Feroz, Olympian Nasir Ali, former international goalkeeper coach of the national team Abdul Ghafoor, coach of the national women\u2019s team Muhammad Naeem, Director Sports for Commissioner Karachi Ghulam Muhammad Khan,Secretary Women\u2019s Wing of KHA Batool Kazim, Dr. Arif Hafeez, Khalid Munir, Wasim Majid, Madam Nuzhat, International Zahid Maqbool, Zulqarnain Haider, Tasneem Usmani, Muhammad Faizan, Sagheer Hussain, Imtiaz-ul-Hassan and others were also present on the occasion.
