\nKhyber Pakhtunkhwa has reported an Mpox case on Thursday, raising the number of cases to eight in the province.
\nAccording to the provincial health department, the infected individual, a 31-year-old man, was screened at Peshawar Airport while preparing to depart for Dubai. Following suspicion, his samples were sent to the Public Health Reference Laboratory at Khyber Medical University (KMU), where the presence of the Mpox virus was confirmed.
\nAccording to health officials, the patient had arrived in Pakistan on April 16. Upon confirmation, the health department issued directives to the District Health Officer (DHO) Khyber to begin immediate surveillance and contact tracing to prevent further spread of the virus.
\nThe patient has been transferred to the isolation ward at Police Services Hospital in Peshawar. Authorities are closely monitoring the situation, emphasizing that early detection and isolation remain key to controlling the outbreak.
