\nPakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and senior lawyer Moazzam Butt on Friday lauded the Pakistani media for its responsible role during the current wave of tensions between Pakistan and India, contrasting it with what he called the \u201chighly irresponsible\u201d conduct of Indian media.
\nAddressing a press conference at the Peshawar Press Club (PPC), Butt said, \u201cThe Pakistani media deserves congratulations for upholding journalistic ethics during this critical time, unlike Indian media which has compromised professionalism and credibility at every level.\u201d
\nReferring to recent allegations by Indian officials against Pakistan, PTI leader described them as \u201centirely baseless\u201d and said India was fabricating narratives to divert attention from internal issues.
\n\u201cIf India thinks Pakistan can be treated like the Gaza Strip, it is a grave miscalculation,\u201d he said, adding that even Indian citizens are beginning to question the legitimacy of the recent incident in Pahalgam, Kashmir.
\nHe cited reports claiming that when the attack occurred, injured individuals tried contacting Indian security forces, but help was deliberately delayed.
\n\u201cThe families of the victims protested, saying security forces told them: \u2018Let them die first, then we\u2019ll come.\u2019 Just 10 minutes later, an FIR was filed, and Pakistan was blamed,\u201d Butt claimed.
\nHe urged the Pakistani government to take a firm stance, including reconsidering the Simla Agreement. \u201cWe should speak to the guarantors of the agreement. The time has come to act boldly as the world was now seeing through the drama that was staged in Pahalgam,\u201d he added.
\nButt emphasized that the people of Pakistan, particularly from KP, stand united with the Pakistan Army.
\n\u201cWe will not back down at any stage. Historically, the people of KP were the first to sacrifice for the freedom of Kashmir,\u201d he said.
\nWhile Pakistan continues to play a responsible and peace-oriented role, the Modi government\u2019s policies were pushing the region toward further instability, he added.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
